Description
This is a Chinese Cemetery dating back to the late 1800's to early 1900's. Some of the Chinese who worked on building the SP Railroad through the area settled here in Borden. Madera was established later, and nearly everyone in Borden moved to Madera. This was the only cemetery in the area where Chinese were allowed to be buried. Most of the bodies were ultimately dug up and sent back to their families in China. But 8 graves still exist, and there may be more unknown graves.
